An important thread in our story is the nurturing of young scholars and professionals. They were the real building blocks of this Collaboration. Their presence stimulated and challenged their more senior colleagues whom in turn managed to find time in their busy agenda to support them and to answer their questions. They are also at the heart of the connections we have created between ourselves – they served as emissaries and brought us together to work with them in their projects. They have created links between themselves crisscrossing the Americas and creating a web of ecohealthy relationships that is bound to foster the development of the field. More importantly, they connected and worked with communities, policy makers, public health officials and activists bringing about small but significant transformations in ways of thinking, relating and doing.
